Ty Stone appointed HCC executive vice president
Howard Community College President Daria J. Willis today announced Dr. Ty Stone as the college's Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. Dr. Stone's portfolio includes the college’s budgeting and finance, facilities management, auxiliary and campus services, public safety, human resources, and information technology departments.
"I am grateful that Dr. Stone has accepted this appointment permanently and has given her full intellect, personality, and experience to the people powering our essential campus services," said Dr. Willis. "She is a professional of the highest caliber and truly lives our ethos of meeting students where they dream. I look forward to working with her to continue building Dragon Country as the pride of our county, state, and nation."
Dr. Stone joined HCC in December 2023 as a distinguished educator with successful executive experience in the community college sector. Her previous stops include presidential appointments at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN, and Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY, where she was named in consecutive years to City & State New York Magazine’s ‘Power 100’ list for philanthropy and education.
She has also served in vice presidential roles at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH, where she led student and business services operations, including information technology, public safety, and enrollment management.

Dr. Stone earned a doctorate in organizational management from Capella University, a master's in business administration from Trinity University in Washington, D.C., and her baccalaureate degree from Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, MD. Her appointment is effective July 1.
